Almost Done 

    This week i started to prepare for my Wle project by having my mentor take pictures of me working. I had my mentor take pictures of me changing oil and checking brakes. It was hard to get my mentor to take pictures of me because most of the time he was working and couldn't stop what he was doing. Next week i plan on getting my mentor lunch so i can show that i apreciate all the work he has done to help me at my internship. I also plan on getting more photos of me working so that i can show my work step by step. This week there was not much work for me to do so i followed my mentor around and helped him with what he was doing. We replaced brakes and did an oil change on a Honda civic then checked all the fluids (power steering, brake fluid, engine coolant and brake fluid). Then my mentor brought in a truck and we checked the differential did a tune up (spark plugs and wires) and changed the oil. After we were done on the truck i still had about an hour left in the day to work so i swept the shop and cleaned up one of the tool tables. Next week i plan on taking more pictures for my project.

How My Wle project is going . April 21st

   This week when i came into the shop at 8:30 my mentor was just getting a truck on the rack to diagnose and fix a problem with a vibrating noise coming from under the truck. When i put on gloves to get to work with him he told me to get under the truck and see if i could find where the noise was coming from. I found the area where it was coming from and told him it was the exhaust bracket, then he asked if i could find out what was wrong with the bracket and i just guessed it was loose but he then showed me that above the exhaust pipe was a crack in the bracket. So i then removed the bracket and gave it to the shop fabricator so he could weld it back together. Then i replaced the bracket and drained the transmission fluid so that we could add new fluid. After that my mentor pulled up another car so that we could check the brakes and do an oil change. so i removed the tires and the front brakes so that i could resurface the rotors and replace the brake pads. I didnt work on my project for exhibition because i didn't bring my digital camera to work to take pictures of me working. Next week i plan on taking pictures of me doing my usual activities like brakes an oil change a tune up or a transmission service. The hardest part of my project will be getting somebody to stop what there doing to take pictures of me. Next week i plan on bringing my camera and asking my mentor if he would take pictures of me while i work.
